Green Flag is not easy to achieve. However, due to our very creative curriculum, sustainable learning embedded into day-to-day life at our school, our dedicated staff and children, we have managed to maintain our status. We are very proud to have held our Green Flag award for 6 consecutive years. We have 3 Green Flags and are well on our way to our 4th! We try very hard to keep detailed records of all of our children's achievements. We have consistently worked hard on energy reduction and embedding a conscious behaviour change among children and staff. Our challenge is our kitchen use. We have a very high take up of the universal school meals programme and as a result our usage in the kitchen has increased significantly. We try to work with our private catering team to ensure that they are also conscious about energy use and sustainable practices in the kitchen. Simple changes to appliances and behaviour for example resulted in a reduction of our usage by one third in one year.
