Published 03/07/26On Monday, we were fortunate to take a group of children to visit the resident of Lavender Lodge. The children sang a range of songs, which the residents thoroughly enjoyed. The children had a fantastic time spreading joy within the local community and demonstrated our school values.

Published 23/06/26This week, Hurlands Pickleball and Padel Club visited us to deliver free introductory pickleball sessions for our Year 1 children. The pupils had a fantastic time learning this exciting new sport and developing their skills. A big thank you to Hurlands for providing such an enjoyable experience!

Published 17/04/26Year 1 children have had a fantastic week on the bike course! They began the week on balance bikes and as their confidence grew, they progressed onto pedal bikes and learnt important bike safety skills. Throughout the week, they have demonstrated excellent behaviour, showing respect to visitors in school and engaging positively in all activities. We are very proud of how well they have participated and supported one another each day. Well done Year 1!

Published 24/03/26Today we held our Sponsored Bounce, organised by Friends of SFIS, and what an amazing day it was! The children had an incredible time seeing how many bounces they could achieve, with plenty of enthusiasm and teamwork throughout.
A huge thank you to all parents, carers, and family members who sponsored the event. Every contribution makes a real difference. All proceeds will go towards raising funds for our school’s new reception area—designed to improve security by adding a door beyond the main reception—along with classroom renovations and 15 new iPads that will benefit all classes.
We’re thrilled to share that we are currently sitting at just under an incredible £5,000!

Published 13/03/26On Tuesday 24th March Friends will be holding a sponsored bounce within the school. All children will go to the hall in their classes and have 5 minutes to complete as many bounces as they can on a bouncy castle in small groups.

Friends are aiming to raise £8000 this year to go towards the new welcome area, a new carpet for Barn Owls class and 15 Ipads to be used across the school, so every penny counts.

We’re delighted to see more and more families choosing active travel—and February’s results prove it!
SFIS placed fourth in the Hampshire leaderboard—an amazing achievement!

Published 05/03/26It was lovely to see so many children taking part and sharing their favourite books. The staff also enjoyed getting involved and had great fun dressing up as their favourite Julia Donaldson characters.
Throughout the week, classes across all year groups have taken part in paired reading activities, with older children reading to younger pupils—a highlight for many!
A big thank you to Mrs Deans, our English Lead, for organising such a fantastic World Book Day celebration.
