A massive well done to Year 1 for hosting their fantastic art gallery this afternoon!
It was wonderful to see so many family members attending and celebrating the children's magnificent artwork. The gallery was a huge success, and the children should be incredibly proud of their creations and the hard work they put into the exhibition. For more details of the art curriculum, please visit the School News page on the school website.
All food bank donations, kindly given in exchange for a copy of your child's artwork, will be donated to Farnborough Food Bank. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
A huge thank you to Friends of SFIS for organsing the spooky disco last Friday! Events like the disco are vital to our school community. They not only provide wonderful opportunities for the children to have fun and create lasting memories, but they also help to raise vital funds for the school.

Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us today for our family gardening event. Without your support, it simply wouldn't be possible to maintain our grounds and keep them looking as lovely as they do.
This term, Year 1, have a fantastic new art unit focused on portraits, where they are not only developing artistic skills but also drawing inspiration from the works of famous artists: Andy Warhol and Julian Opie. The children have been learning about Warhol’s iconic use of bright, often unexpected colours, repetition, and the bold, graphic nature of his Pop Art prints. They have also been inspired by Julian Opie’s work, which focuses on simplifying human figures and faces using minimal lines and block shapes.
