Headteacher

As a young boy, I was always fascinated by nature and wildlife. I would spend hours looking through books about animals from around the world and loved visiting local nature reserves with my grandparents to spot the various species of birds and ducks. At that age, I was so engrossed in the pictures I could see in the books and the wildlife I spotted through my binoculars but I didn’t really understand how the world was changing and the devastation that was happening all around us.

Fast forward 30 years and here I am, in the very privileged position as Headteacher of South Farnborough Infant School. I first visited this wonderful school in March 2020 and was immediately struck by the way the school’s ethos, vision and values were evident in every room, every corridor and every conversation I had with adults and children alike. It quickly became very clear that this was the school for me – a school where children learn at their own pace, collaborate with their friends and discover what motivates them to ‘be the change they want to see’. Having spent three happy years here, I have been fortunate enough to realise that what I saw on my first visit happens every day at South Farnborough Infant School.

My aim as Headteacher is to inspire the children of South Farnborough Infants to discover how we, as humans, can help the world, its people and its wildlife. Our unique Harmony Curriculum provides every child with the opportunity to become a ‘Harmony Hero’, to explore the world we live in and to develop their own solutions, no matter how big or small they may be. As well as the statutory National Curriculum, our children experience hands on learning within the classroom and in our fantastic outdoor environment. Our team of talented, passionate and caring Teachers, Learning Support Assistants and Special Needs Assistants provide rich learning experiences, which we hope will be engrained in the memories of our children as they continue to ‘Live and Learn in Harmony’.
